How to Create a New Blog Post - Relentless

This guide will walk you through the steps to create and publish a new blog post on your website | Video Walkthough

1. Navigate to "Add New" Post:

   • From your WordPress Dashboard, hover over Posts in the left-hand menu.

   • Click on Add New from the submenu that appears.

2. Enter Post Title:

   • In the "Add title" field at the top of the editor, type the title for your new blog post (e.g., "Test post").

3. Add Post Content:

   • Below the title, you'll see a block editor area. Click where it says "Type / to choose a block" or simply start typing to add your main content.

   • You can type paragraphs of text (e.g., "Post content here....", "Test content...").

   • You can add multiple blocks of content (paragraphs, headings, images, etc.) as needed by pressing Enter after a paragraph or clicking the "+" icon.

4. Set Featured Image:

   • On the right-hand side of the editor screen, ensure the Post settings tab is selected (it should be selected by default).

   • Scroll down within this tab until you find the Featured image section.

   • Click on Set featured image.

   • This will open your Media Library:

     • If your image is already uploaded, click on it to select it (a blue checkmark will appear).

     • If you need to upload a new image, click the "Upload files" tab, then "Select Files" to choose an image from your computer.

   • Once your desired image is selected (e.g., the "Relentless Magazine" cover was shown being selected in the video for a different context, but you'd select your relevant post image here), click the blue Set featured image button in the bottom right of the Media Library window. The image will now appear in the "Featured image" box.

5. Select Categories:

   • Still in the Post settings tab on the right:

     • Categories: Scroll to the "Categories" section. Check the box(es) for the relevant categories for your post. You can also click "+ Add New Category" to create and assign a new one.

6. Publish the Post:

   • Once you've added your title, content, featured image, and any categories/tags, look to the top right corner of the screen.

   • Click the blue Publish button.

   • A confirmation panel will appear. Review the settings if needed, and then click Publish again.

Your new blog post is now live on your website! You can usually view it by clicking the "View Post" link that appears after publishing.
